Roosevelt Island Tramway

ACOMPI presents Skyscraper, a site-specific tragicomedy about the delicate architecture of ego. Written and directed by new media artist Georgica Pettus, the play unfolds in four acts across multiple locations between Midtown East and Roosevelt Island, centered around the iconic Roosevelt Island Tramway. Performances take place on select evenings in July 2025.

The story follows land use lawyer Jordan (Zachary Zamsky), his girlfriend Eliza (Georgica Pettus), and his colleague Claire (Sharleen Chidiac). Through intimate inner monologues, the characters reveal their desires, the lengths they’ll go to achieve them, and the lies they tell themselves to make it all okay.

Performed in real time, the audience travels alongside the actors—from Midtown East to Roosevelt Island, including a shared tram ride over the East River. The play runs approximately 45 minutes.
